Out of my misery

I'm sick. Sick sick sick. Burning with fever, and exhausted from taking care of a sick little toddler. Dragging her to the doctor where we waited two whole hours with other sick people, getting even sicker.

I'm miserable. And tired. And haven't been online but once since Valentine's. That was only for a bit, and then we got sick. We've been sick. She's getting better, and I'm getting worse.

My mind is reduced to medicine and sweat.

After my bath tonight, I couldn’t sleep for all the napping I did. Now it's two in the morning and all I can say is I'm sick.

(sniffles...coughs)

I'm going back to bed.

Please send soup.

Or throw rocks at my head.

Poor Ash, dog-sick with a sick little one, to boot. The color of your blog says it all. Just as long as it's not the norovirus, which is yuckiness incarnate.

My mind is reduced to medicine and sweat.

Despite the suckiness of sickness, the above is a good line, Classic Ash, weaving eloquence from pestilence.

Get rest, get better, Precious!

Yuck, the February flu...the only thing worse is the June gloom...

Feel better soon!

I'm sending you a lovely (though unfortunately virtual) thick carrot and butterbean soup heavy with coriander, and hunks of granary bread to dip in if you're feeling up to it :-)

I see you've turned to the darkside again - I must admit I do have a soft spot for the old dark template and miss mine sometimes (sigh).

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed all your (many) comments on my blog last week and wish I could leave you something just as beautiful and insightful. But all I've got is my gratitude for your beautiful words and this virtual carrot soup ;-)

Get well soon, on your special Ash Wednesday!

love bb x x x

(Only my familiars get to call me that...)

And once you get through that lovely carrot & butterbean soup (Yum, I can smell it over here! The winds must be just right...), I'll send that fairy of happiness over with an emergency airlift of chicken soup.

Fret not, collectively we'll keep you in pottage until you get better!!

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling much better now. :)

FiL: I've sent you the fairy of happiness...he or she (a cross-dresser, perhaps!) shall be there soon. :)

...

BB: It's lovely to see you!

I was wondering about the name...if I could still call you BB.

Claire’s lovely. But you'll always be BB to me.

Or Teal Eyes. As you are in my fiction.

"I see you've turned to the darkside again."

In honor of Ash Wednesday, I thought I'd go dark.

I like it, though. I might keep it for a while.

As for the comments: I love reading lots of blog entries in one sitting, and then leaving whatever thoughts first come to heart and mind. So no need to thank me. But you're welcome. I enjoyed it immensely. :)

...

Brian: Lovely little rhyme! :)

I didn't have the flu, exactly. Just a bad cold.

And June is actually a favorite of mine. It's July that always gets me...

...

Davey: Thank you!

From Ash Wednesday to Everydaibh Thursdaibh. ;)

...

I hope you’re all doing well.

Take care. :)

Love,
~ Ash
